Chad Hugo Responds Strongly To Pharrell’s Attempt To Dismiss Lawsuit

Chad Hugo has been fighting for his due recognition as a member of Neptunes, an iconic duo comprising himself and Pharrell Williams. In case you’re not up to speed, Chad had sued Pharrell over claims of inadequate compensation and holding back of Neptunes’ money from him.

Later, Pharrell filed for a dismissal of the lawsuit and claimed that the number and names of songs included was amended in subsequent proceedings.

However, now Hugo’s lawyers have clapped back at the dismissal request stating that eight previously stated songs have been omitted from the latest complaint after further investigation, but does not indicate movement in bad faith. They also noted that Hugo doesn’t need to identify each song at this point in the case proceedings.

Furthermore, they also stated that Pharrell and his companies have a grasp over records pertaining to 50 or so studio sessions between 2019 and 2021, and that access to these records will be needed to identity the music they worked on together. According to Hugo’s claims, these records have been requested in the past but he has received “almost nothing.” Who do you think is right?

Drake Sued By Songwriter Over ‘Janice STFU’ Plagiarism Claims

The narrative that Drake has songwriters working overtime for him just isn’t going away from the rapper, and now things are worse. According to new allegations, the rapper might even be benefitting from songs he hasn’t paid writers to create officially.

The speculation comes in with a new lawsuit over Drake’s hit song ‘Janice STFU,’ where Aviel Calev Hirschfield claims he wrote a demo between December 2025 and January 2026, where the chorus resembles the final chorus on the hit song.

He also mentioned being inspired by Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers,’ a song from which the main melody seems to have been interpolated pretty directly. If it is unclear as to how Aviel plans on claiming authorship over a work that’s clearly more Lykke Li’s, get this; apparently, the new lyrics were same “word for word” and “note for note.”

The writer claims to not have been compensated or credited in relation to the song, and says that Drake maintains that he is the one who wrote it. The claims are quite serious, considering the song’s catchiest part is the hook or chorus, and has done numbers around the world. What do you think?

Kid Rock & Eminem Join Forces on New Song ‘Heal My Faith’: Listen

Kid Rock and Eminem have joined forces on a new song called ‘Heal My Faith’.

There has been some confusion over their collaboration in the past few days as earlier they were supposed to feature together on a track called ‘7 Sins’. Later, in a video posted on his socials on Wednesday (Oct. 14), Kid Rock announced that Eminem has been replaced by Lil Wayne on ‘7 Sins’ while their collab will be another song, ‘Heal My Faith’, taken from his upcoming album Halfway to Jesus.

Kid Rock called Em “my old friend of almost 40 years” and clarified that people who worked on his new album are not aligned politically. Both Kid Rock and Eminem are from Detroit, and they have both been vocal about American politics throughout the years. The two musicians have divergent political ideologies as Kid Rock has been a public Donald Trump supporter since the President’s first campaign. Whereas Eminem has been known as a critic of Trump’s.

“Not only the special guests, the musicians, the songwriters, the engineers, everybody involved in this record, we all don’t think the same,” he said. “Plenty of us think differently. All different backgrounds, everything, different politics. We’re able to come together and make this beautiful body of work that I’m so proud of.”

Kid Rock and Eminem’s song ‘Heal My Faith’ is now out in select markets and can be streamed above.

Nas Calls Out The Music Industry & Pushes For Cultural Awareness In New Statement

Rapper Nas has an unparalleled legacy and he has no plans of having it tarnished by industry mechanisms. A pioneer of hip hop culture itself, the rapper spoke his mind in a new statement and stressed on the need for the “knowledge of self” in terms of the culture recognising its own origins.

Nas spoke about his reflections on watching the music industry roar on, navigating between one trend or the other, and losing its essence in the midst of it all. “I think about how it started,” he penned, “I think about the Mississippi Delta to New Orleans to New York. I think about Robert Johnson at the crossroads, how he changed music, and how we can’t even find his grave.”

The note came from a serious and sincere place in Nas’ heart, and the words are a testament to it. The rapper posted it as an image on his official Instagram handle, and currently, it is the only visible post on his profile, which just highlights the seriousness of his emotions behind this. Check out the full statement below!

Chance The Rapper Wins Lawsuit Against Former Manager Over Breach Of Fiduciary Duty

In a landmark legal victory, Chance The Rapper has won a 6-year long legal ordeal against former manager Pat Corcoran. According to the judgement, Pat would have to forfeit up to $1.5 Million in merchandise and merchandise-related compensation (as well as undisclosed vendor commissions) to be determined by court.

The Cook County Circuit Court Judge James E. Hanlon Jr. noted that Pat had a pattern of changing testimony based on audience and that he had “a habit of saying whatever the moment requires.” The judgement came in after examining independent witnesses, documentary evidence and Chance’s own testimony. The biggest blow in this has been to Pat’s credibility as a manager.

“I’m grateful to finally close this chapter of my life and can’t wait to eventually tell my side of the story. I’m thankful to the courts and, more importantly, to God for remaining faithful,” said Chance in a formal statement in conclusion of the legal battle.

50 Cent Reveals Eminem Stepped Away From ‘Street Fighter’ Soundtrack To Work On His Own Album

Rapper 50 Cent created amazing hype for the upcoming Street Fighter movie, which boasted a song by 50 Cent featuring Eminem and apparently, also a posthumous contribution from Tupac. Now, the chances of Shady being on the song are looking rather “slim.”

In a new interview with The Associated Press, 50 Cent revealed that Eminem “put together a few pieces” for the Street Fighter project, but ultimately had to back off from it. The reason was simple; Eminem has been working on his own album.

50 Cent did not comment beyond this on the matter, and it is unclear whether the Tupac verse will be on the project or not now that things have changed. Whatever the final product is, we’re sure it will be great regardless; especially considering 50 Cent’s eye for combining great music with great visual storylines.

‘Young Thug On Trial’ Documentary To Release On Netflix In 2027

Rapper Young Thug‘s trial shook the world, with Brian Steel becoming a celebrity attorney more in the public eye than ever before. The trial itself captured the imagination of many, who no longer have to wonder what exactly went down in detail.

The reason is simple; there is a new documentary on the trial that will release in 2027 on Netflix. Titled Young Thug On Trial, the documentary is a 90-minute feature directed by Shianne Brown and produced by Passion Docs.

It is being described formally as a “Major feature documentary covering the extraordinary rise and trial of Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug, and his band of brothers from the streets of Atlanta. Prosecutors set out to prove that he and his music label were actually a criminal street gang. High drama meets farce in this incredible story where a city and even rap itself are on trial.” How excited are you?
