The narrative that Drake has songwriters working overtime for him just isn’t going away from the rapper, and now things are worse. According to new allegations, the rapper might even be benefitting from songs he hasn’t paid writers to create officially.
The speculation comes in with a new lawsuit over Drake’s hit song ‘Janice STFU,’ where Aviel Calev Hirschfield claims he wrote a demo between December 2025 and January 2026, where the chorus resembles the final chorus on the hit song.
He also mentioned being inspired by Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers,’ a song from which the main melody seems to have been interpolated pretty directly. If it is unclear as to how Aviel plans on claiming authorship over a work that’s clearly more Lykke Li’s, get this; apparently, the new lyrics were same “word for word” and “note for note.”
The writer claims to not have been compensated or credited in relation to the song, and says that Drake maintains that he is the one who wrote it. The claims are quite serious, considering the song’s catchiest part is the hook or chorus, and has done numbers around the world. What do you think?
