G-Eazy & Logic Release New Song ‘Flashing Before Your Eyes’: Listen

G-Eazy & Logic have teamed up once again to bring forth an exciting new single your way, which is out now and is called ‘Flashing Before Your Eyes.’ The song samples Vince Collins’ unmistakable nostalgia and depth in a repackaged new manner to send a philosophical message to the youth.

The artists dive into the complexities of a fleeting life that burns bright, flashing in your eyes, and bring the focus back on spending time meaningfully. Through multiple angles, the rappers that once toured together extensively contemplate on the fickle nature of time and the outlook it brings by.

The themes of fame, success and temporality come into play over a boom bap syncopated, draggy pattern with an interesting sense of sound selection — certainly not your average boom-bap record. At the risk of almost being preachy, the rappers embrace their duties as emcees and preach an unmistakable truth. Check it out below!

Lil Baby Releases New Song ‘Dead Fresh’ Produced By Pharrell: Listen

Lil Baby is out with a new song called ‘Dead Fresh,’ and who else would be better suited to produce such a song other than Pharrell, who is creatively making Louis Vuitton fresh in many different ways. Of course, the song was also teased during a recent fashion event by LV as well.

The song starts off with Pharrell‘s signature four-stop motif, this time with a snare/clap sound before dropping into the body of the beat. Lil Baby glides over the instrumental with ease, talking that expensive talk. From Cartier to Chanel, Baby raps in a laidback manner about living a luxurious lifestyle and looking “fresh as hell.”

In the middle of the song, Lil Baby also shouts out Pharrell in a rather unique way. He says, “this beat came from Pharrell,” which is a statement not because we already know it came from P, but because Pharrell is to music what luxury brands are to the ultra-rich wearing them. It’s an expensive sound! Check it out below!

Funk Flex Accuses Former Hot97 Host DJ Enuff Of Accepting Payola

In a shocking new allegation that has the industry buzzing with chatter, Funk Flex has accused former Hot97 host DJ Enuff of accepting payola. For context, DJ Enuff was let go from Hot97 around the same time as Peter Rosenberg, Laura Stylez and Ebro, and had spoken to TMZ about Funk Flex’s hand in getting him fired.

Funk Flex, however, was not fired and stayed considerably silent on the insinuations against him. That silence ends now. Taking to social media site X with a shocking tweet, Funk Flex alleged that DJ Enuff took money to play certain songs/ albums on the radio and mentioned artists like French Montana, Nore, Maino, Myles Brando & DJ Wavy who may have had to pay Enuff.

The allegations are serious and if taken to court or proven could have very real consequences. Check out Flex’s tweet below.

Russ Releases New Song ‘Hell’: Listen

Russ might be in his signature heartbreak-rapping-with-melodies bag again with the latest release. The song is called ‘Hell,‘ and is an emotional foray into missing out on a potential relationship & hoping the other person calls.

Full of introspection and clever writing, the verses go from rap to melodic parts with the kind of ease that Russ perfected on ‘Losin’ Control‘ back in the day. His techniques, however, are more polished than ever. Besides, his decision to constantly make minimalistic artworks with the relevant logos has made for good branding, while positioning all focus on letting the music speak for itself.

Last year, too, Russ took the scene by storm with his sixth studio album W!LD and also made serious waves as an author. The ability to stay consistent with both quality and quantity in midst of many commitments is what makes Russ stand out as a multi-disciplinary creative in a league uniquely his own.

Russ has also been hosting intimate listening sessions with fans to tease new music, and also held a listening party recently in New York. There may be more of these soon, so if you’re a fan, that’s something worth keeping up with too.

Check out the latest single below!
