This year at Cannes, we again invited a select group of discerning attendees to submit their ballots, assigning certain superlatives to the films they saw in the course of the festival. The perceptive reader will notice that these esteemed tastemakers do not always agree. Their moments of disharmony may tell us something about the movies, or about ourselves.
